A 41-year-old man from Ossineke faces a child abuse charge following an investigation by the Michigan State Police Alpena Post, according to a news release.
On Sunday, March 19 at approximately 9:00 a.m. troopers responded to a residence in Alpena Township for a report of child abuse. Emergency Medical Services were also called, and the victim was later transported to MyMichigan Medical Center of Alpena for evaluation.
The mother of the victim stated she returned home from work and observed marks on the neck of her child. An interview of the child was conducted at the Child Advocacy Center in Alpena. The child alleged the injuries were a result of Nicholas Weinbrod Greene choking him, the release stated.
Greene was arrested at his residence on March 23 and taken to the Alpena County Jail. Greene was arraigned on March 24 in the 88th District Court in Alpena County on one count child abuse, second-degree. He was given a $10,000, 10 per cent bond.
His next scheduled court appearance is on April 18 at 2:30 p.m.
