A crash in Sault Ste. Marie this morning sent one person to the hospital.
Sault City Fire Chief Ed Miller said the accident occurred just after 8:30 a.m. when the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was northbound on Johnston Street, jumped the curb, and went airborne striking the front of the Museum Ship Valley Camp.
The truck ended up on its roof after hitting the ship.
City DPW workers were about 100 yards to the west on Water Street when they saw the truck jump the curb.
They rushed to help and were able to talk to the driver.
Due to the way the truck was positioned on its roof and against the ship, it took about 15 minutes for fire crews to get the driver out. He was wearing his seat belt, Miller said.
Sault Ste. Marie City Police is handling the investigation.
