Maxx makes a move in real estate in 2025

Maxx Anderson was with Smith and Company Real Estate for two decades as a successful realtor. Now she will be expanding her skills and passion at KellerWilliams Northern Michigan Properties

After two decades of being an integral part of the Smith & Company Real Estate team, Maxx Anderson has made a move.

The very successful realtor, who is in her late 50s, has shifted her career from working with an independent real estate company in Smith & Company to the top franchised real estate company in the world, KellerWilliams (KW).

According to the KW website, they "are the largest real estate franchise by agent count, was ranked the No. 1 real estate franchise based on full-year 2022 sales volume and transactions by T3 Sixty, a leading residential real estate consulting and analytics firm."

No need to worry, however, if you thought Anderson was leaving the area with this new position.

Anderson is staying put in the Sault Ste. Marie working with nine other professional realtors at KellerWilliams Northern Michigan Properties located at 405 E. Easterday Ave.

Anderson brings a lot to the KW table.

"In 2005, I decided to get my real estate license. I had twenty years at Smith & Company Real Estate. A great twenty foundational years. On average, I would sell 40-50 properties a year," Anderson said.

Now, Anderson is ready for a new challenge and adventure with a highly respected franchise in KW.

"The big move for me was to go from that independent agency to a franchise. That's a really big step when you have been committed to an independent agency that has become like family. It's really hard to separate yourself from that. But from the business side of it, and looking at this particular franchise, KellerWilliams really aligns with my career plans as I go into the sunset side of my career and into retirement. So, the big move was to line myself with systems and programs that I could utilize for my career," Anderson explained.

Broker/owner Leah Jackson of KW Northern Michigan Properties has known Anderson well before hiring her to the KW team here in the Soo.

Jackson, herself, has over 12 years of experience in the industry and knows Anderson will have a big impact in her office.

"Her marketing skills alone show me that she will succeed. She is a fantastic businesswoman and with what she is offering our office, and how we align, we are going to succeed," Jackson said.

Anderson recognizes the hard work Jackson has done in the real estate field to get her where she is.

"Leah is a dynamic businesswoman and has taken big steps to own her brokerage. She has had several real estate properties herself that she has owned as a landlord and as a business owner. I really align myself with the career choices she has made. We have been friends. We have been competitors at times in the real estate market but at the end of the day, truly, she was one of the very first people to call me when my mom passed away. That is the type of friendship we have outside of real estate. In business, we both align ourselves with doing the best for our clients and for the industry. I admire her work ethic. She has been here (with KW) for a year now and she has proven that this is the right model for me," Anderson said.

Anderson is excited to get to work right away in the new year.

"I want to really help with consulting, marketing with the agents, referrals and to grow the marketing and sales team through the tools and systems that are available," Anderson concluded.

There will be a KellerWilliams Home Buyer Fair at the Sault Ste. Marie KW Northern Michigan Properties office Sun. Jan. 12 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 405 E. Easterday Ave. For more information, click here.
