Chippewa Luce Mackinac Community Action (CLMCAA) is proud to announce its annual Walk for Warmth event, set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 5. This year's event is generously sponsored by Albert Heating and Cooling, with support from local community members and businesses.

The Walk for Warmth event is designed to raise funds and awareness for families in need of heating assistance during the cold winter months. As the weather turns colder, many families in our community struggle to keep their homes warm, and this event plays a crucial role in providing the necessary support to ensure their safety and comfort.

“We are thrilled to have Albert Heating and Cooling as our main sponsor this year,” said Bobbi Palmer, CLMCAA’s Weatherization Director. “Their commitment to helping our community stay warm and safe is truly inspiring.” Thanks to the funds raised from last year's event, CLMCAA has been able to assist 69 families so far this year, providing them with the essential heating assistance they need.

Todd Albert, owner of Albert Heating and Cooling, expressed his enthusiasm for supporting the cause. “At Albert Heating and Cooling, we understand the importance of a warm home during the harsh winter months. We are honored to support the Walk for Warmth and help ensure that no family goes without heat this winter.”

Adding a creative touch to this year's event, a local high school student designed the artwork for the event. This design will be featured on merchandise, including t-shirts available for purchase.

Participants of all ages are invited to join the walk, which will start in the atrium of Avery Square and follow a short route through downtown Sault Ste. Marie. Registration begins at 10:30 am, and the walk will kick off at 11 am. Refreshments and chili will be available for participants after the walk, provided by CLMCAA’s Senior Services Department.

In addition to monetary donations, CLMCAA is seeking in-kind donations to create gift baskets for a drawing at the event. Local businesses and individuals are encouraged to contribute items that can be included. Details about the contributing businesses will be posted on clmcaa.com.

Executive Director Joe Nolan reminds our community that, “Every step taken, and every dollar raised helps us provide essential heating assistance to those in need.”

To register for the event, volunteer, or make a tax-deductible donation, please contact Weatherization Director Bobbi Palmer at 906-632-3363 or [email protected].
