It is all about women during the 2023 Ladies Night Out shopping spree, featuring special giveaways valued at hundreds of dollars, fun activities and discounts to celebrate mothers, wives, and daughters out there, so "Dig It."
As seen by the orange signs, tractors, and construction workers fixing up city streets, this year's Ladies Night Out theme is just that — "Dig It."
This special event is sponsored by Monocle Jewelers and will take place on Friday, May 19 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Everyone is invited before shopping and dinner for a welcome party hosted by Deep Roots Salon at 4 p.m., where visitors can discover the deep roots of the Sault, located in the historic 824 Ashmun St. building. Ladies are invited inside to grab their complimentary totes, gifts, and event passports. A sales and discount list from 28 participating stores will be displayed at the gathering.
The old Checkered Flag Party Store stands as a true example of 1906 Sault Ste. Marie, which was recently resurrected by Justin and Caryn Knepper of J&C Development. It is now home to the vintage-themed Deep Root Salon, owned and operated by Hair Stylist Shelli Bishop.
Then, guests can shop, wine, and dine with family, friends, and neighbors.
"While shopping, receive one stamp per in-store purchase, which will gain you entry into the grand prize drawing," said Stephanie Sprecker said, Downtown Development Authority director (DDA), who works with city businesses to extend support and encouragement to all women in and around the Sault.
After that, everyone will meet at Austin’s Cigar Lounge around 8 p.m. to receive tickets per each stamp collected to enter into a prize drawing.
"Make sure to check out Austin Cigar Lounge’s menu while relaxing," Sprecker added. "We'll have a custom-made drink menu at the after-party. We will also hold a grand prize drawing for a gift basket valued at hundreds of dollars in downtown merchandise from all participating stores... hundreds of dollars."
The drawing at Austin's is scheduled to start at 9 p.m.
A list of participating stores is posted in the “discussion” section of the Downtown Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. Facebook page — 2023 Ladies Night Out. Free shuttle services, independent of the DDA, will be available, with route and pick-up locations to be released on the page.
