Dafter Township Volunteer Fire Dept. was dispatched to a house fire around 10:51 a.m. on W. 12 mile road.
According to Dafter Township VFD Chief Austin Conway, 14 firefighters responded with Dafter Engine-1, Tanker and Brush truck.
Firefighters arrived on scene to a working chimney fire. Crews quickly contained the fire and extinguished it.
Conway reminds homeowners to keep chimneys clean and inspected. He also recommends working smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher.
