Critical blood shortage calls for Yoopers to donate tomorrow

'One pint of blood could save up to three lives,' UPBRC Blood Collection Coordinator Kayla Rudden said. 'We are facing a critical shortage'

The UP Regional Blood Center (UPBRC) will collect blood donations at Chippewa County Health Department tomorrow, Thursday, Feb. 9 from noon to 3 p.m.

UPBRC is the only blood provider to 13 hospitals across the Upper Peninsula. All blood donations stay in the UP.

"One pint of blood could save up to three lives," UPBRC Blood Collection Coordinator Kayla Rudden said. "We are facing a critical shortage."

Chippewa County residents are strongly encouraged to donate. Plan on giving approximately 25 minutes of your time to check-in, fill-out paperwork, and have your blood drawn.
