Chippewa County Credit Union will be holding its annual Koats For Kids event November 5th at the Chippewa County Credit Union main office in Sault Ste. Marie from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and November 7th at the Kinross Rec Center from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The event, made possible by Chippewa County Credit Union and generous donations from the community, will provide coats, hats, and gloves to school age children in need.
Last year’s Koats For Kids helped over 200 children receive the winter gear they needed and the credit union is hoping for an even larger turnout this year.
“We know there is a need in our community which is why this event is so important to us,” Olivia Cerre, who handles marketing for Chippewa County Credit Union, said. “We look forward to it each year and with the help of donations, can provide coats for even more children. We hope anyone in need takes advantage of this opportunity and attends.”
Any child in kindergarten through 8th grade is welcome. An adult must be present and there is a limit of one coat per child. If you wish to donate to the cause, donations can be dropped off at either Chippewa County Credit Union location.
