Cause of fire in Kinchloe remains unknown, officials say

One person from a neighboring home was taken to hospital with minor breathing problems

The cause of a fire this week in Kinchloe remains under investigation, according to officials.

The Kinross Volunteer Fire Department was called to a structure fire at 4 Shadow Wood Dr. at 6:23 p.m. on Thursday. Crews pulled a hand line off the truck and extinguished the flames from the yard. Two firefighters then entered the home to take care of the remaining fire.

A neighbor was transported to hospital with minor breathing problems.

Crews from Pickford, Rudyard and Dafter provided mutual aid along with Kinross EMS.

The adjoining residence at 2 Shadow Wood Dr. had smoke damage, according to fire officials.

The scene was cleared approximately two hours later.
