Auxiliary officer to be honored for 50 years of service

Sault Ste. Marie will honor the long and dedicated service of Sergeant Alan Lavictor of the Auxiliary Police at this Monday's Regular City Commission meeting. The special honor reads:

On behalf of the City Commission, staff, and citizens of Sault Ste. Marie, we would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to Sergeant Alan Lavictor for 50 years of service with the Auxiliary Police. 

The Auxiliary Police have protected and served those who live, work, and visit Sault Ste. Marie since May of 1952.

Alan Lavictor, a life-long native of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, began his service with the Auxiliary Police in September of 1971. In addition to his current rank of Sergeant Lavictor has held the following positions and ranks within the Auxiliary: Platoon Leader, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Commander, and Commander.

In the past 50 years, Alan Lavictor has volunteered thousands of hours of his personal time to the Auxiliary Police and for our community. He is an excellent example of a local citizen who has dedicated themselves to public service and the common good.
