Downtown Sault Ste. Marie will be hosting the annual Parker’s ACE Hardware Parade of Lights on Friday evening, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m.
Sault Ste. Marie Main Street is proud to announce Parker’s ACE Hardware as the primary sponsor of the Parade of Lights again this year.
Parker’s ACE Hardware has hosted the Santa Claus float in their warehouse and has welcomed parade participants to use their parking lot as the kick-off point for more than 25 years.
This year, the city is excited to announce prizes once again for the floats and displays that are the best lit and display the best representation of the holidays.
Winners will receive the following cash prizes: first place - $250, second place $150, third place $50.
Please be reminded that no floats can have a Santa on it as this is reserved for the Parker ACE Hardware’s float.
Spectators will want to make sure they do not sit on Ashmun Street between Easterday and Ann Street. The route for this year will be starting on Court Street, turn right onto Ann Street. and then right onto Ashmun. After turning right onto Ashmun Street, the parade will travel to Portage Avenue, where it will turn right. It will conclude with the annual Christmas tree lighting presentation in front of City Hall at 225 East Portage Avenue.
