A Negaunee man has been arrested for operating under the influence of drugs - third offense, possession of methamphetamine, and driving while license suspended.
An MSP Negaunee Post trooper was on patrol this past Monday when he noticed a traffic violation committed by a vehicle traveling on Midway Drive near US-41 Highway in Negaunee Township. The trooper activated his emergency lights to make a traffic stop. During the stop, the male driver switched seats with a female passenger, in an attempt to hide that he had been driving the vehicle.
The trooper’s subsequent investigation identified the male subject as 35-year-old Derrick Cram from Negaunee. Cram had a suspended driver’s license and was not valid to drive. Cram was further found to have been operating the vehicle while under the influence of drugs, and he was in possession of methamphetamine.
Cram was arrested and lodged in the Marquette County Jail. Cram has been arraigned in the 96th District Court. His bond was set at $25,000. He is due next in court on Jan. 23, 2025. Cram is considered innocent unless proven guilty.
