MARQUETTE POLICE DEPARTMENT

On 03/18/2025 at approximately 0810 hours the Marquette Police Department responded to the report of a stolen vehicle which was taken from the 600 block of W. Washington Street.
The victim reported the vehicle had been stolen at some point earlier in the morning.
Witnesses report seeing the stolen vehicle at various locations in southern Marquette County during the morning hours.
At approximately 0900 hours the stolen vehicle was located unoccupied in the 600 block of W. Bluff Street in Marquette.
During the course of investigation, a suspect was identified and was later located in the 400 block of W. Washington Street.
The suspect, a 27-year-old Chippewa County (MI) resident who is temporarily staying in Marquette, was arrested and lodged at the Marquette County Jail for Motor Vehicle - Unlawful Driving Away a 5-year felony and Operating - No License a 90-day misdemeanor.
The suspect's name will not be released until his arraignment.
