Roselyn Mae (Robbins) Evans, age 88, died on June 25, 2024, at Munson Hospital in Traverse City, Michigan. She was born on May 24, 1936, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Andrew and LaReta (Hubbard) Robbins.
Roselyn grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and graduated from Sault High School. After graduation, she went on to college in Detroit, Michigan, earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing. She started her career at War Memorial Hospital in Sault Ste. Marie. She married Robert Evans on July 13, 1957. They moved to Marquette, Michigan, where she worked and raised their three children. After Robert retired, they moved back to the Brimley area. She spent many years living in Brooksville, Florida, after the death of her husband, before moving with her daughter to Traverse City.
Roselyn was a member of the First Congregational Church of Brimley, Michigan.
Roselyn enjoyed reading books, playing card games, bingo, watching gameshows, swimming, and people watching. While in Florida, she enjoyed her daily golf cart rides around the lake, watching the wildlife, and flowers in the area. But most of all, Roselyn enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Roselyn is survived by her children, John (Patty) Evans of Marquette, Michigan, Dennis Evans of Maribel, Wisconsin, and Debra (Todd) Hanna of Traverse City; grandchildren, Andrew (Courtney) Evans, Rosalie Evans, Danielle Evans, Gregory Evans, Matthew Larke, Ashley (Jacob) Pann, and Makayla (Jonathan) Johnson; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Jason, Huck, Evelyn, Winona; sister, Margaret (Fred) Simpkins of Lakeland, Florida; and brother, Andrew “Bill” (Sandra) Robbins of Fishers, Indiana.
Roselyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Evans; parents, Andrew and LaReta Robbins; siblings with spouses, Eileen (Bob) Grougan, Kenneth (Marilyn) Robbins, and Loraynne (John) Leahy.
