SAULT STE. MARIE AREA PUBLIC SCHOOLS

At approximately 4:15 p.m. the Sault Ste Marie Police Department was notified by the Michigan State Police regarding a social media threat related to Sault Area High School. Officers responded to the school and notified school administration. The volleyball game scheduled at Sault Area High School was canceled out of abundance of caution to allow the police department to complete their investigation. At this time there is no threat to the school or the public and the building has returned to normal operation.
No additional information will be released at this time.
