Family Fun Day at LSSU promises fun for all

'We are all about building community at LSSU,'  Asst. Women's Basketball Coach Alix Carter said

The Lake Superior State University's Family Fun Day is coming up Saturday, Sept. 22 and Assistant Women's Basketball Coach, Alix Carter, is excited about the event.

"We are thrilled to put on the Family Fun Day Event! This event perfectly embodies the spirit of Lake Superior State University and our vibrant community, bringing together people from all walks of life to celebrate and connect. With its fantastic atmosphere and engaging activities, it’s a unique opportunity for everyone to come together and create lasting memories. This event also allows the community to get to know all athletes and coaches from the hockey team, men's and women's basketball teams, volleyball team, and all our student-athletes. The event will create excitement for the upcoming athletic seasons. We look forward to another incredible year and encourage everyone to join in the excitement," Carter said.

The event runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Student Athletic Center in the rear of the Norris Center.

There is a $5 entry fee, however, children 12 and under are free.

Carter says there will be a variety of carnival games with candy prizes, pizza, a bounce house, a live auction, and lots of fun.

Carter is also looking for support from community members and businesses to help make this a successful event.

"We are looking for auction gift baskets and candy donations for this event!! We would love to get some donations for gift baskets. These donations could be anything such as candles, candy, gift cards, and coffee mugs. Any local candy donations will be used as prizes on the day of," Carter added.

"We are all about building community at LSSU,"  Carter concluded.
