Chippewa County Health Department (CCHD) will be providing both seasonal flu and COVID-19 vaccines on Lake Superior State University’s campus in Sault Ste Marie on Friday, Sept. 27. The drive-through vaccine clinic will be held in Lot B at the Norris Center, 1000 Meridian Street. Vaccines will be given from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and are available to the public ages 18 and up.

CCHD asks that anyone attending the vaccine clinic bring a state issued ID along with their insurance information. Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurances will be billed to cover the cost of vaccination for both flu and COVID vaccines.

“I encourage everyone who is eligible for the vaccine to get them. Flu and COVID vaccines greatly lower risk of serious illness and are safe” stated CCHD Medical Director, Catherine Wilkerson, MD

No appointments are necessary for the drive-through clinics. Anyone attending only needs to follow the signs directing traffic and individuals are vaccinated without even getting out of the car. For the safety of CCHD staff, participants are asked to please leave their pets at home.

Anyone unable to attend the drive-through vaccine clinics is encouraged to call the Chippewa County Health Department (906) 635-3577 to schedule an appointment.
