Three fire departments were dispatched at around 3 p.m. today for a truck/camper on fire at the corner of M-221 and 6 Mile Road in front of the Bay Mart gas station.
Superior Township Volunteer, Bay Mills Volunteer and Dafter Township Volunteer Fire Departments were all dispatched to the scene and are still present as of 3:50 p.m.
Power lines were reported down and sparking. Cloverland Electric also responded.
In an online statement, Bay Mills Indian Community Tribal Chairman Whitney Gravelle says there are no reported injuries.
"The family of the RV, employees and guests of Bay Mart are safe and sound," Gravelle said.
"The flames from the fire took down several lines including our internet. Four Seasons Convenience Store will be cash only until further notice, and Bay Mart will be shut down for the rest of the day."
In addition, M-221 is closed between West Lakeshore Drive and 6 Mile.
Officials say the fire was contained around 3:45 p.m. but crews are expected to remain on the scene for a while for clean up.
SooLeader will have more information as it becomes available.
